i hate goodbyees!!

its been a time of reflection for me over these past few days {especially my nine hour road trip today = D } about the person that i have become and the people who have changed me. I'm a different person then when i walked into the Ridge two10 about seven months ago. I have been taught, inspired, and guided by some of the greatest people i have ever met. Thank you for being my friends through some of the most influential times of my life. i will cherish our memories constantly! and miss apartment prayer every morning.... but probably not till about 10! i've never been good at farewells, especially to the people that have made me the person that i am today. i adore you, my fellow roomates, my friends, my boys, my heroes! miss you more than you know! love, kristen

SUMMERRRRR...

Thus far:

1. I've made the 13 hour drive from Utah on two hours of sleep...

7. Spent some time trying to make new friends (not very successful)
8. Found a dead frog...

you girls were the best roommates & i miss you lots already...
i woke up this morning to the city. cta station sounds about every 15 minutes with trains coming and going. the bustling city sits below my apartment as i sit 13 stories up. all i can see are skyscrapers and office buildings. this is my life now for the next 5 months. it hit me all at once this morning...i love this place- it sure isn't rexburg or mt. shasta, but i think maybe that's what i love about it. it's beautiful and alive.

buuut i just want to thank you girls...
KRISTEN- kristen secor, i love you. i don't care that you won't write on my wall, i guess i'll live with messages. i'll miss you as a roommate, and i'll miss you like crazy this entire summer. fall will be weird, promise me i'll see you more than normal. don't be surprised if i'm lying in your bed when you come home from class or something...or when you don't go to class. love you forever. want a lil cutie!?
COURTY- oh man, i miss you already. i see your cute face when i think of top ramen. you're pretty and i miss everything about you. i've shown 3 people the fanny pack picture; don't be offended. gossip girls marathons should probably continue even if we aren't living together. yeahhhh.
EM-Z- yo gurl, can i have yo numba? can i have it? freaking i never gave you permission to go on a mission. i think you're being very selfish. but never forget how much i love you and i'll miss you. you always dress too cute and you make me want to look better. haha...LET ME KNOW YOUR ADDRESS WHEN YOU GET YOUR CALL (so i can send that's what she said jokes...jk..but seriously..). iloveidaho

I have almost finished my first year of college. Rexburg, Idaho has served me well. It is my home. However, it could not be my home without my friends, who became my family. This is a short journey through the people who have made these two semesters the best of my life. They are the funniest, most wonderful, spiritual, kindest, prettiest people I know. And I am lucky enough to know them.

Kim Elaine Fortona. This girl. I hugged her the first time I met her, little did I know she does not like to hug. Kimmy is one of few people in life I do not think will ever be duplicated. She is crazy. The memories I have with her make me pee my pants just thinking about them. The voices and sounds she can make are unreal. She has been through a lot in life and I love the person she is. She became my best friend without question. From dances to movies to tanning to utah to not wearing pants, she is my life. I admire her determination and testimony so much. She cares about everyone. She loves northern california. She treats people how they should be treated. She is short. She makes me laugh in a way that no one else can. I love her spirit. I love the way she teaches me by words and by her example. She conquers the world every day. She makes flowers. She makes food. She likes to cook. She eats brownies like I do. She drinks DMD almost as much as I do. She would give me anything and drop anything for me. She taught me about life and how to be the person I wanted to be. Kim is the best texter. She makes me happy every day, which I love. She knocks on the wall three times to tell me she loves me. And I love my Kimmy.

These girls are my heros. They let me into their life's and all the memories we have will never go away. They are my sisters. And superrrrrrr funny.

Kristen Ann Secor. The best poet I know. High school prom queen and most humorous. My other half. She can read my mind. She incorporates the gospel in everything she does. I have anxiety when we are not together. We were best friends broke up and came back with a vengeance. She knows everything about me, maybe even more than I know. She knows every thought I ever think. She is selfless, what ever is hers is mine. She cares about people so deeply. She is loyal. She loves her family, and they love her. She has a testimony that everyone can feel. She has a contagious smile and laugh. She worries about me before herself. I trust her with everything. My home is Rexburg, but really it is wherever she is. Her thought process, her outlook on life, her way of talking, her attitude about everything, is perfect. My first year of college would not have been possible without her. She is the definition of an eternal best friend. We share everything- material, emotional, and spiritual. She puts me in the best mood. I could never be mad at her. Her life amazes me. She amazes me. I cringe at the thought of her marrying because then I couldn't live with her. It may be bad to be this dependent on someone but I cant help it. She is my other half.

Heather Marie Wright. This lady is the most caring, beautiful, giving, selfless, flawless person I know. From her food to clothes to bed to car to tv to any material thing to her time and energy and heart, she would give me anything. She loves unconditionally. I am so blessed to have her in my life. My Heavenly Father knew I would need her. Not only am I blessed to know her but to live with her. She is a constant. I can't function without Hoho. The huge things she does for me are unreal. But it is the little things every day that make her the person that she is. She is my best friend. I can not imagine Rexburg without her. I am convinced she needs to stay forever. She is an amazing photographer. She turns to the Lord in all she does. She has been through hell and still comes out on top with a smile. She is caring. She makes me feel safe and at home wherever we are. She has some epic dance moves. She scratches my back and sings me to sleep. She lets me cry all over her bed. She makes me laugh so hard I pee. Heather is my idol and everything I want to be.
Jill and Mei-Mei. These were my roomates fall semester. They are wonderful. They taught me things that no one else could. I learned that complete strangers can become best friends. I learned to laugh at everything. We conquered our first semester of college together. We survived the dorms. We ate weird food. We had clean checks that took us hours to pass. We dressed weird. We made friends with everyone. I learned about different places in the world with them. We talked about everything. They put up with me. They will forever be my best friends.
Spencer Lemmon. This guy has been around my whole life. He is my cousin and best friend. He came to Idaho and walked into my mess of a life. He reached out and saved me when there was no hope. He makes me pie. He drives me everywhere. He is the constant priesthood in my life. He is my hero. He knows me better than anyone else. He takes life seriously but knows when to laugh. He never judges me. He can relate to me on a level no one can, because we are related. We have memories of a whole life as family, but it is this semester that he proved to me that life is worth it, that good priesthood holding men are out there, that there is joy in everything we do. He really is the greatest guy I know.
Travis Hatch. We started the semester in love. I think I scared him. We had some awkward conversations. He is my cousins best friend. He has seen me at my worst and my best, and he still sticks around. He is the only boy who is excited to watch HSM3 with me. He holds the priesthood and goes to the temple. He served a mission and loves the people. Every time we talk it turns to the gospel. I steal his clothes and he does not get mad. He is the perfect example of what a boy can become. He is a wonderful man who I admire. I am so grateful that he chose to come here and influence my life.
Jessica Mearns saved me at the beginning of winter semester. She helped me see the world and the gospel in a way that I never had before. We went to Utah and talked the entire way. Her spirit and testimony is one I admire and think about daily. Her strength in times of trials astonishes me. She is athletic. She can have an accent. She kicks trash at video games. She has a pet fish. And I love her. She always makes me laugh and truly has been a joy to live with. Winter would have not been the same without her.

As the semester ends and I reflect on the person I have become I realize that I owe it all to these people. I love them. They are my family and I will always and forever be grateful and in debt to them. So thank you world. This is me.

i left my {heart} in rexburg, idaho

well, on wednesday at 5 am, i started my journey to san francisco, 9 students, 2 faculty in a 12 passenger van with less leg room than a coach seat in a southwest airplane. it was quite the adventure... comical, obnoxious, enlightening, boring, warm are adjectives i would use to describe this rendezvous with a melting pot of artists. i wish i could have taken more pictures, participated in more people watching, and gotten more sleep, but i'm glad to be back to the grind, for time to fly, and to spend time with my lovlies!
