have talked to me lately, you would know that i was a little nervous about ACTUALLY graduating. I mean sure, i took all required classes, walked across the stage, received my diploma cover, but passing my classes i was unsure it was going to happen.
i spent most of yesterday [aside from the 3 hours i spent at the dentist] trying to check my grades, but my efforts were squashed by the schools server being down.
i check this morning they were up and i have passed!
i will receive my diploma in the mail, sometime, but i probably owe the school money first.
i also need to mail my apt key back to the ridge (whoopsie)
i think i owe them money too, whatever
ps: graduation was great. however it was hot. i had mentally checked out, no one nearly as cool as pres. uchtdorf came to speak, so i clearly didn't listen. i cried. nuff said.
i'll post pictures soon

summer lovin....
Summer o9 contained some of my favorite times. Minus of course, for the absence of my lovely two1oers!! But honestly team, i had an amazing off track, filled with excitement, humor, joy, and often nothing at all. i can't remember a time used for better reflection, healing, faith seeking, or simple peace in my life! i'm a little more skeptical than i thought i would be to return to my beloved Rexburg. So i thought i'd share a bit of the things that have truly brought me summer lovin....
-----------------
1--my family! its been such a joy to live at home again!! my mom is the best!! always has been!! my little brother, Thrine, is truly amazing!! He is strong, smart, loving, and patient. I admire him and respect him. And my older siblings like always have set the bar high! My sister and her husband are unbelievable. Let's just say for as much as i LOVE kate and ethan, i don't see little stians running around anytime soon! But i'm ECSTATIC that my older brother Thomas and his Jenn are expecting a little boy due this December! and i'm green with envy that Jimmy and his Kira went to the Stadium of Fire to see my boyfriends the Jonas Brothers! I love my family!! and i'm constantly in gratitude for my parents!
2--Two1oers meet Tim Tebow! He is the quarterback of Florida State, Heisman Trophy Winner as a Sophomore, lead his team to a National Championship and straight to my heart!! he's this Christian virgin stud! he's sooo cool... youtube him!!
3--Maybe i'm addicted. Maybe Wonka recalled them cause some dumb kid choked on them. Maybe i drove to every liquor store for the next three towns purchasing all that i could find. Maybe they are amazing.
4-- My summer would not have been the same without my job. If i could hand pick my perfect summer employment- my boss, my location, my assignments, my coworkers, my pay and my perks... I would work my exact job!! I LOVE BLOCKBUSTER!! it helps when your boss looks like mine ;)
5--yes, i'm one of those. i love the Bachelorette! clearly, my choice for Jillian would be the nerd wearing short shorts and a tank, the famous ED!! He's such a dork!! i love it!!! GOOD LUCK ED!!!
6--I THINK MISSIONARIES ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! i miss them... wayy too much!! but i love them and i know what they are doing is right because i know that the church is true!!
7-- Diet Coke. speaks for itself. also the theme of the 9oth bday party we are throwin for Bumpa!
8--Heather has an Ipod Touch so Stian has an Ipod Touch.
9--i'm reading President Kim B. Clark's book Armor! it's amazing! i'd lend you my copy but i don't think i could be without it! you must read it!!
10-- oh! and i've spent the summer making bff bracelets!!! they aren't exactly that cool but i like them!! i have made about a million-my family, my coworkers, my wrists, my ankles, they are everywhere! even my Bishop asked for one! BUT i made matching ones for ya'll first!! so shoot me a text with your address and i'll send it off!! thanks for being my best friends!!
much love

Today...
I thought about giving up soda.
I entertained the thought for a good 2 minutes.
And then I laughed as I walked into my bedroom to find piles of change divided up into 75 cent increments for my morning 44ouncer.
Give up soda?? REALLY?
why would I do such a funny thing.
Just wanted all of you to know I miss you lots. and our Horks trips.
I am so excited to see you all soon in the fallllll

currently
[1]
i should be sleeping
but my current roommates insist upon partaking in "pre-white glove" which i never understood to begin with
i per usual have the living room -- which becomes dumping ground and i never get around to cleaning, my very own fridge -- i don't think i have ever cleaned one before + its probably real nasty, and i was supposed to clean the vanity, but roommate 3 cleaned it for me
you see there are only 4 of us, so we had to pick up the slack for 2 invisible flatmates
so being in b.room 1, i hear everything. it's like i am in the same room even when i am not. i hear their conversations. gay music. swishing cleaning products. demands. and giggles.
i don't appreciate it. because i want to go to bed.
i will clean in the morning.
roommates are usually inconsiderate. i am used to it. however the current ones seem this way extra-ly.
i am excited to live in my house. with a room far away from noise. and people whom, when bothering me, i can lovingly tell to quiet down and don't usually stay up 'til all hours cleaning. where i don't have deadlines for cleaning. there's a reason why they call it ::home.sweet.home::
[2]
interneting
blog stalking which begins to consume me
looking for housing and jobs in portland -- not quite ready for that endeavor
blogging, otherwise
[3]
procrastination of all things having to do with school. homework. projects. papers.
[4]
just got an e.mail.
yes. and e.mail.
from a boy. it made my heart skip a beat.
he called me beautiful.
we don't text. we don't even have each others phone numbers.
i'm graduating.
the end.

NOSE.
On JULY 4th (which i totally dressed up for) i arrived at lake powell (heaven) the first couple days were great fun of course, i have tons of pictures of those days (view fb later)
my first time wake surfing on monday, SO much fun. my new fav.
after a couple runs of wake surfing on tuesday i was even more in love. and looking good doing it. ha. (i was the only girl that got up on the first time, nailed it) and then...
i fell, the board hit my face and now I'm ugly. boom. just like that. so sad. this was right after before the swelling got too bad...
from tuesday around 5pm until friday when we left this is what i looked like. in bed, covered in ice. awesome.
my first meal, alex gave me ice cream (the main reason i love that girl)
this was day three (thursday night) i would not let anyone take pictures of me on day two. everyone should just be grateful. al and i decided i looked like 1.) a new born puppy or 2.) the guy from goonies. not good.
and this one is this morning, day five. i went to the hospital last night and I'm having surgery next week!
my nose is sideways and for sure broken. and i just look like death/really weird make-up, neither of which are attractive. i have not been in public, nor do i plan to. so you guys are real lucky (or unlucky) to get to see these.
anyways, hope your summers are going better than this!
LOVE YOU
confession...
maybe i want to stop by 'the block' on sunday, just cause i know that's when he works.... embarrassing??? yes!!! someone tell me not to ;D
miss you all

THIS will be in my possession as of TUESDAY! I am REALLY excited.
It has been a mostly crazy week... I turned around the other day... and someone was holding a snake behind my head. I have never moved so fast in my life. awesome.
I spilled 44ounces of DP all over my car/pants after lunch at work. also awesome.
AND my physical therapist called me a genuine player. Awkward conversation.
Love you all and miss you LOTS!

its really going to happen
today i picked up my cap and gown. and bought a diploma frame.
it was exciting. and surreal.
and weird.
And then I was walking to my car from the MC and i saw these two:
walking with their grandchildren. I said hi to them and they said Hi back. It's nice that they pretend to know who you are.
And then I thought this was a sign! It's really going to happen. I am really going to graduate.
(ps: sorry i post every other second.)

conversations with a BRIDE
Many of you know that am the MOH in my best friend's wedding next weekend.
We've been best friends for about 4 years.
She's been engaged almost half of the time we've been friends.Long distance friends.
She just graduated from Lewis and Clark in Portland.
And I've been here.
We rendevouzed over summer, thanksgiving and christmas vacations.
Trips to utah and nordstrom.
As she's been wrapping up wedding plans over the last couple of months I've been stuck here in Idaho trying to graduate.
I was able to surprise her at her Bridal Shower a couple weekends ago.
But our only other contact has been via phone and instant messages.
So i've been the supporitive, long distance MOH.
Doing what i can from Idaho -- clearly, having limited, Idahoan resources.
I've planned the bachelorette party, designed and sent out those invitations.
Sent her a paper chain count down. Donned with lyrics to love songs and her wedding colors.
Made t.shirts for the bride and her attendants to wear on our day before the wedding and while we're getting pampered.
But although i have been far away we've been having the most comical, serious, full of venting conversations.
preface:
i am one of 2 maids of honor. but i have been refering to the other maid of honor as the "assistant to the maid of honor" (office reference). we'll call her TINA.
character summary:
me, 'nuff said
linds, bride. levelheaded. picks and chooses her battles. not letting little things stress her out.
tina, bride's childhood BFF, flighty + flakey, living in st. louis with boyfriend, been m.i.a. for most wedding planning and will be m.i.a. wedding weekend until sat. night. impossible to get a hold of and won't return phone calls or respond to emails until weeks later, if at all.
ROUND 1:
So Linds calls me.
Linds: Tina is not getting in town until the night before the wedding. WTF?
Me: Are you serious?! I can't believe this?! She's ridiculous! What the freak is she thinking?!
Linds: You know what?! I don't even care. Mom told me that I should just tell her not to come.
But I can't do that. I'm to nice.
Me: You want me to? (pause) But seriously. I know you asked her to be your MOH too. Do you still want me to make her a MOH shirt? Is she giving a speech too?
Linds: Do whatever you want. I don't care. I don't want her to give a speech.
Me: Well I am not going to denounce her by t.shirt. So I'll just make her one anyways.
a few hours later tina calls linds.
Tina: (in a sweet, innocent, high pitched voice) Hi linds. How are you? Well you know I am not going to be there til saturday night but i wanted to plan some stuff. Can i call your mom later?
Linds: (pissed off) I don't care do whatever.
Tinda: (in the same tone) Ok. Well if you need help with anything let me know.
Linds relays the message to her mom. Mom is mad. Linds relays the message to me.
Me: If i were her. There is no way I would be calling the mother of the Bride i've been blowing off. Or me. (you see I have been e.mailing her and she preceded to email me the same thing she told lindsay:
Hey love!
Hope everything is going well. I won't be able to attend the bachlorette party because I'll still be in St. Louis. I would love to help out any way I can. I was thinking of decorating the rooms before you get there Saturday and doing something low key but fun for Linds thar night. Please let me know if I can help out anyway...money, ideas or what not. If love to help. :-) Hope to hear from you soon.
tina)
I don't want her money or her help! I just want her to be there! I hope she calls me! I'll give her a piece of my mind!
Linds: I hope she calls you and then calls mom. Then she'll probably figure it out and get her head on straight.
Round 2:
(via fb chat)
Linds: Hoho!
Me: Hey Lady!
Linds: I get to see you in less than two weeks!
Me: I know!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!
Linds: We're going to ball!
Me: I know!!!!! Bring on the water proof mascara!!!
Linds: CHECK! Already got some!
Me: LOVE YOU!
Linds: LOVE YOU MORE!
Round 3:
(via text message)
preface -- so i bought linds some negligee for her bridal shower. i found the perfect pair, it was even on sale (at VS of course) however the top was a size too big but i figured she could try it on and if it didn't fit we could exchange it. She opened it up at the shower and loved it.
Me: Did you try on that lingerie top yet.
Linds: No.
Me: Well, i am at VS and they have it in your exact size now so i just wanted to know if you needed me to pick up your size.
Linds: I'll try it on right now and let you know.
waiting...
Linds: TOO BIG!!
Me: Alright. I'll get the right size!
Linds: Thanks! We'll swap in a week!
Me: Perfect!
Linds: YAY!
Me: Did you find a garter yet??
Linds: No. Still working on it.
Me: I've got my eye out for you!

Thats disgusting!!!! And cruel and unusual punishment.
But I'd do anything for you dear {refer to the song from OLIVER!}
LOTS OF LOVE!
See you in 6 days!!!!

PS: Saw My Sister's Keeper.
No one else should torture themselves through that movie.
Don't do it!
But I would give you my kidney. If i believed in donating my organs. Remember the stupid organ donoring lady-WHACKO at the hospital??
BUT I LOVE YOU TIL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!!! {which i think is a reference from Oklahoma!}

I believe it's cruel and unusual as well...i about died when she said that. Kill me! I can't believe you're going to be here in 6 days! I want it to be NOW! I LOVED your references throughout...fabulous!
Have NOT seen my sisters keeper and refuse to! But, yes I do remember the whacko lady...and there is no doubt in my mind that I would donate a Kidney or a boobie to you...I don't know why you want my boobs, but I'd give it to you none the less!

ps...
Here's the thing...
So I'm sitting at work. On July 3rd... typical day before a holiday. SLOOOOOOOOW. I get in at 8, made my self a huge to do list of projects I needed to tackle. Just as I am getting started, my boss walks in.
Oh, Jessica! What are you doing here? Well, David clearly I am working very hard on making stupid spy calls to all the places we already have data for like you asked me (I phrased this a little bit differently of course). Oh, well I just assumed you would take the day off... Everyone else did.
AWESOME. So my 4th of July weekend is off to a great start. Staggered through my first 4 hours of work... had an insanely awesome BBQ with my co workers... since it turns out the 3rd is now a national holiday and we have no business today.
My family is all out of town. So I have the house to my self this weekend. Except for my brother. But let's be real, he's never home anyway. So I plan on working hard and hardly working for the next 2 and 1/2 hours... I have a date tonight... idk if I am all that excited about it. But that's what happens I guess. I have no intention of 4th of July celebration other than sleeping, laying out, and running around the house with the music up loud.
I love you alllllllll. and I hope you have a happy Love America Day. and BBQ and Blow stuff up and do all of those other fun, patriotic, american things.
I can't wait to be back at school in the falllll :)

Life here.
I've discovered a place here in the city that is unbelievable.
Whoever comes and visits me first gets to go here on a date with me. Just kidding...but seriously.
It's called the Signature Lounge.
It's on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building on Michigan Ave.
I've been here twice in the past two weeks.
They have the most sensational mocktails and the most divine flourless chocolate cake.
Some people say the view is amazing from the Sears...
The Sears has nothing on the view from the ladies bathroom at the Hancock.
You can even see the Sears! (The tallest building on the right side!)
I'm seriously falling more and more in love with this city....and I've realized lately that it will be harder for me to leave here.
But I miss you girls. A lot. So thanks for making it easier :)
And also my TWENTIETH is in less than 2 weeks. Not looking forward to that.
